Welcome to Tiggers

We’re called this because we are between 1 year and 18 months old and we like to establish our superiority over each other and sometimes this hurts! 

Yes we can be a little unsociable but we don’t mean to be, its just that we don’t like to share!

We can get around pretty well quickly you know and that keeps our key workers really fit. 

We like to play with sand, water, paint everywhere, stick things not always on paper, climb, and test ourselves to the limit.

We are open to new adventures, shaving foam, shredded paper and love nothing more than exploring in cardboard boxes.

Our key workers have to make sure we stay safe while we attempt to climb Mount Everest (the chair to the table!) but we have half carpet and half messy play surface so we cope quite well.

We sit at the table and eat nicely (or so we are told!) and we are mimicking our friends and our nursery nurses.  We hold a spoon and then a spoon and fork when we can, and it’s great to miss our mouths occasionally because it leaves such a mess, and mess can be fun too! 

We try to talk and sometimes its gibberish but we listen to everyone else, we have lovely stories read to us and when we play all our key workers play too, so we can learn a lot from them. 

Sometimes they say really big words and we get to know the sounds – funnily enough we can always tell when they are cross too because their voices lose this sort of musical sound, and become a bit like lions!!!  I think that’s only when we do something wrong though!  We also love singing and dancing.

We are right next to the outdoor play area which is soft surfacing and we can roll around, so we go out ever such a lot and our Manager tells us fresh air is good for us even if it is sometimes a little cold!

We can put our boots on and run around on the grass, and love joining in on sports day. We have this big huge hall and when all the climbing things are out boy do we enjoy it.  Of course we have things to sit on and ride, push and pull. 

There is so much to do it’s a job to fit it in sometimes. 

Our key workers keep development records and these follow us through the nursery. 

Our key workers also observe us in play and make plans to enhance our play which encourages our different stages of learning.

Tiggers room  is a really  busy area as we are changing from being babies to toddlers and so we are learning how to get on with each other, but also how to respect each other in peace if we need it. 

We sleep on our own beds which make a lovely tower when they are away and music plays softly in the background. 

In fact we love this time too because it’s so quiet and restful.
