TAWNY OWLS

Welcome to Tawny Owls.

We are aged up to about 14 months dependant upon when we walk really!

We’re getting bigger so the toys we play with are becoming a little more complicated.

They say it’s to help us develop but sometimes we’re not so sure it’s worth the hard work!

Like piglets we tend to sleep, maybe not for such long periods, but we can do so when we get tired.

We have another room we can go into if we need the quiet, and we’ve been told there’s going to be sensory things in this room for us to touch, see and play with.
We are looking forward to this!

We eat at set times in the day but like piglets, because we sleep this can fit to us individually.

We are encouraged to drink from cups and guess what we have to hold these ourselves – what a cheek, its much better for someone else to do it for us!

Our room is lovely and bright, and always clean because we tend to get these things called germs and our key workers like to keep them at bay. We keep looking for them but we haven’t seen one yet!

Our key workers plan to bring our development on but quite frankly they don’t need to because we’re going to grow up anyway aren’t we?

They put out toys which make us think more and add to the enjoyment.
Actually we get to play with water and paint and boy that is fun.

Our floor is part carpeted and part washable, which is good because although we can stand well we do tend to stumble sometimes when we get tired.

Of course the washable floor is for when we’ve eaten.

We like to hold our own cups and spoons and half the fun is making a mess for key workers to clean up – got to keep them busy eh!!

We always go home with a contact book at the end of each week that tells you whether we’ve been good at eating, sleeping and all those sort of things!

We like to go outside whenever we can in the soft play area and of course on the grass.

We join in on sports day although we don’t move very fast.  We also go for walks around the lakes which are just a few steps away, but we have pushchairs because this can be quite tiring.

We have a six seat pram – its really unusual and it allows us to sit with our friends.  Of course you know we only wear slippers in the nursery but we need shoes as we go outside, and love it when our mummies and daddies buy us probably our first pair!!

You can come and see us whenever you like but please take your shoes off or put on those green cover things outside the door, as we’re not allowed to wear outdoor shoes in here.
