POOH BEARS

Welcome to Pooh Bears.

We are aged approximately 2 years old but this can vary and is dependant upon our stage of development and emotional well being.

We now start wearing T shirts and sweatshirts so we can get messy without worrying about our best clothes!

We may still be learning to go to the toilet before we wet ourselves but let’s face it sometimes we leave it a little late. Our key workers don’t mind because it’s all part of growing up – or so they tell us!

We are progressing in our ability to share but we still have a little way to go!  We can have the occasional battle over our favourite toys but we learn how to let others play happily both with and alongside of us. We enjoy playing with dough, gloop, shredded paper, sand and water.  We love to dress up and be adults or animals depending on how we feel!

We like equally to sit quietly with a book and look at the pictures, or enjoy listening to the words read by our key workers.

We have dance lessons for half an hour each week and this teaches us to balance, skip, count and move all parts of our bodies.

We like also to sing rhymes, bang away at the drums and listen to different sounds as well as make them (noisily preferably!).

We have a lovely garden to play in which has special surfacing for us to tumble on.  You know what we’re like – we do like to climb and be a little more adventurous than our bodies will allow so we tend to fall perhaps a little more than the others!

We go into the big hall and have our lunch, we sit on special benches like big girls and boys and we also say please and thank you, most of the time without being asked.

We still like to sleep during the day, even if only for half an hour, so after dinner we brush our own teeth, wash our own faces and settle down to rest.

You know the lovely thing about this time is the music – we have really beautiful relaxing music and as soon as they put the CD on we’re off to the land of dreams.

Sometimes we don’t sleep but just enjoy the quiet and rest and sometimes talk to ourselves – whoops!

We love to paint and make lovely pictures to either go on the wall in our room or take home.

We love to have a go at cutting too even if we don’t quite get it straight away – it’s the thought that counts!
