Our lovely nursery is situated in Powder Mill Lane, Dartford.
We are close to M25/A2, Bluewater, Town Centre, Dartford and Ebbsfleet Stations.
Our grounds, designed for children and also for family functions, are within 1¼ acres and along one boundary runs the River Darenth.
The riverbank is lovely to look at but securely out of reach to the children.
We have a large car park (for 38 vehicles), 2 outdoor play areas designed for children of various ages and our development plans for 2007 include the clearance and planting of the river bank, renew boundary fences and create an adventure play area for the children and their families.
We are open Monday to Friday from 7 am to 6.30 pm, throughout the year with the exception of bank holidays.
We are registered by Ofsted for 175 children per day of which no more than 150 children can be under the age of 5 years.

We have a very active after school and holiday club.
There are no hard and fast rules about when the children move and the above are given as guidelines only.
It depends on whether a child is ready to move, or whether there is a space in the next group to move into.
The children’s emotional well being is the first and foremost consideration.
Our nursery is staffed by experienced, qualified and competent persons and you will find a mix of age ranges. We are an equal opportunity provider and are driven by the commitment to providing high quality and affordable childcare.
Our aims and objectives are on display throughout the nursery and we measure our performance capabilities against this in 3 monthly and annual appraisals.
We exceed the requirements of Ofsted for minimum 50% qualified and we have our own training organisation SET.
Our ratio as recommended by Ofsted is 1:3 (0-2 yrs) 1:4 (2 yrs) 1:8 (3 yrs+) but we generally work on the principal of 1:5 overall.
Our policies and procedures are reviewed intermittently but generally on an annual basis by the staff team.
Nursery is Investors in People recognised and currently are working towards Quality care Assurance with Kent County Council.
We offer full and part day care for all children over the age of 2 years, but only full days for under 2 years (no specified number of days although minimum 2 recommended for settling purposes).

We welcome all visitors.
Visits can be spontaneous, or by appointment.
We only request you please to bear in mind the hours of lunch and sleep between 12 noon and 2 pm when the nursery becomes quiet.Springfield at Dartford have been open since October 1989 and in that time have seen many developments, culminating in our now purpose designed building which was completed in June 2004.
As well as the children’s rooms, we have a large indoor hall (which holds 200 people for party functions!), large functions kitchen, staff/training room and ancillary rooms.
Designed to promote independence in the children, they are able to access toilet facilities within the safe confines of the children’s area but our policy is that no child goes anywhere without an adult discreetly in attendance!
One of the play areas has soft safety surfacing for the younger children, whilst the other is a natural tree bark surfacing for the more adventurous.
Our large grassed areas allow us to hold sports day and many other family functions and of course the children can run and ride, safely.

The registration fee is non-refundable and has been introduced purely to cover administration costs and to ensure we receive sincere applications.
